Expansion to other NGOs

It is recognized that the concept of HHDA originated from Ervin More before he was part of IPDI. Eventually, there was a merging of efforts of Mr. More in Visayas and Mindanao and IPDI in Luzon. The further development and promotion of HHDA was included in the strategic plan of IPDI (2010-2016).

To this effect, the concept has been introduced to other partners in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao for possible expansion. During partners meeting/ consultation, HHDA is always included as a topic for discussion.  CERD and PINA serve as witness to the effectivity of the HHDA.

Three key officials of IPDI have been provided orientation by Mr. More in order to be able to provide assistance to other partners.  These officials follow-up initiatives of partners who have been oriented on the HHDA and have signified their interest to implement the approach. But with most of these partners having their respective project underway, the integration of the HHDA would have to be done in the next project cycle.

Other staff and partners of IPDI have undergone an exposure trip to PINA communities to better understand and appreciate the HHDA.  These partners were not necessarily funded by SCLF. The partners from the Panay-Negros cluster (i.e., CSR, Kamalig, San Carlos) separate exposure trips to PINA.

While there have been expressions of interests from several NGOs. IPDI has observed that in some NGOs, community organizers who confront the gaps of conventional community organizing work are more receptive to the HHDA than management.  As such, there is a need to promote the HHDA to management for the NGO to adopt the approach.
