Preparations are Underway for the KAPINTIG 2010

A seminar workshop on the orientation for inter-cultural experience for partners who will be involved in the up-coming KAPINTIG was held at the Sacred Heart Novitiate in Novaliches, Quezon City on April 12-14, 2010.    There were 27 participants coming from the following organizations: SAC Boac, Marinduque; Christians for Social Reforms (CSR); Salvatorian Pastoral Care for Children (SPCC); PREDA Center; Children’s Legal Rights and Development Center (CLRDC); Asian Social Institute – Youth program (ASI-Youth); and Kilos Unlad Mamamayan ng Real – Youth (KUMARE Youth).

Mr. Gary Granada, IPDI Board of Trustees member, provided an input on “The Evolution and Organization of Society” during the first day while Ms. Diane  Roa, of FDC  gave a talk on  Water Rights issues.  The IPDI facilitators provided inputs on the objectives of KAPINTIG and on Inter-cultural learning. A discussion of the lessons learned from previous KAPINTIG activities was also conducted. Workshops were also done primarily concentrating on the critical issues in the areas and their alternative vision of their communities. Suggestions on possible activities for the KAPINTIG 2010 were also gathered from the participants.
