IPDI Conducts Year End Evaluation

All roads led to in Davao Del Norte as IPDI Manila and IPDI South jointly conducted a year end evaluation and celebrated its Christmas party for 2011 in Kaputian, in the Island Garden City of Samal.
The event, which was held on December 12 – 17, 2011, was participated in by the IPDI Executive Director, Davao Team Leader and all the Coordinators and Project Officers of the two offices. The Chairman of the Board also graced the event as observer and facilitator.
The focus of the 2011 evaluation is the efficiency and effectiveness of IPDI in terms of its mandate to both international and local partners. The organization underwent processes of reflection and examination on several levels and topics such as its status organizationally and institutionally in terms of its programs and services; Development and Pastoral Issues, the IPDI external environment and context and the institution’s history.
“We want to continually improve our programs and services by looking back at the past year and focusing on what went well and what needs improvement and likewise align IPDI towards the path of being a “Learning Organization”, says the IPDI Leaderships and Chairman of the Board.
Knowledge Building Workshop
Part of the event was also the IPDI knowledge building workshop where each member of the organization presented their experiences and knowledge on several project management tools. Among the tools which IPDI hopes to build expertise on are Strategic Planning, Annual Operational Planning, Organizational Development, Project Designing, Project Proposal Development, Project Appraisal, Finance Monitoring, Accompaniment Code of Conduct and Training Needs Assessment. The purpose of this exercise is the development of an IPDI Brand of Program Management Tools. The retooling process concluded with agreed descriptions of working definitions and a systems overview of all the tools.
According to the IPDI Leadership and Board, the 2011 year-end evaluation and Knowledge Building Workshop is part of the organization’s pursuit towards effectiveness and efficiency in delivery of services through the framework of being a “Learning Organization”.
The six-day event culminated with a festive Christmas Party where each member of the IPDI family exchanged their gifts which revolved around the theme “helping local economies”. Each gift was required to be a product of the Philippines.
IPDI is officially on Christmas break on December 21 and will resume regular office operations on January 4, 2012.
